This interactive workshop will spend the evening exploring emerging paradigms for the interpreting profession. Drawing on the Demand-Control Schema as articulated by Dean & Pollard and the concept of Role-Space from Llwellyn-Jones & Lee, we will discuss the professional values for interpreting and the shift in conceptual framework and in the United States. In our discussion, we will see how that applies to the context of interpreting in New Zealand.

New Zealand Specific Resource

Auslan Resources
As part of my invitation to present in Australia, I worked with ASLIA-Victoria to create some Auslan videos to replace ASL videos for resources I have been a part of creating. So, while the language might be different, you might be interested in seeing these resources and how they fit with the Vygotskyan framework.
